Registration Due May 5, 2012 For Adult Oil Painting Class by Diana Moses Botkin

Beginning oil painting class for adults scheduled for May 12 at the Dahmen Barn

Oil paints are a wonderful, forgiving medium. If you’ve never tried them, or are just starting out with oils, this class will help you get going. Oils have advantages over acrylics because of their slower drying time for blending and wiping off for changes.  Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is offering a beginning oil painting workshop taught by award winning Diana Moses Botkin from North Idaho on Saturday, May 12 from 11 am to 5 pm.  This class is for ages 16 and above who are able to draw basic shapes and have some understanding of form. This workshop will include instruction and demonstrations for basic color mixing, and laying in shapes with emphasis on portraying 3-dimensions. Participants will work from life and use simple still life set-ups.  The cost is $72 if students bring their own materials which are shown on the calendar listing at www.artisanbarn.org.  For students who prefer not to bring their own materials, they may pay a $15 materials fee and use class supplies during the workshop.  Registrations may be made online on the calendar page or by calling 509-229-3414, and must be received by May 5.  Learn more about the instructor on the website calendar listing.

Diana Moses Botkin’s art career has encompassed opportunities in commercial art, custom murals, portrait painting, teaching, and writing about art.
