Eggshell mosaics for children April 21
A workshop at the Dahmen Barn Saturday, April 21 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, titled “Eggshell Mosaics” is offered by resident artisan Katherine Clancy for ages 6 through adult. Embellish and decorate a paper mache' box with an eggshell mosaic and paint or tissue paper collage. Incorporating eggshells into artwork is a practice that has been passed down through generations in cultures around the world. This project introduces a new way to crush and color the eggshells without the time consuming process of dying and positioning each piece individually.
Parents are welcome to accompany children and each make a box. The cost of $14 per person includes all the materials. Katherine Clancy is a resident artist at the Dahmen Barn, and while her primary medium is watercolor she has been crafting and exploring other media for many years.
