Introductory drawing class for kids aged 6 to 10

Children ages 6 to 10 have the opportunity to learn how to draw from resident artisan Donna Baker at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn on Saturday, March 17 from 10 to 11:30 am.  Donna, a professional artist for more than 20 years, has extensive experience in teaching children using the concept of simplified forms and shapes.  In this short workshop, the children will learn the basic steps of drawing a horse.  Maximum class size is 10 to assure individual attention.  The cost of the class is $20 with the students bringing a 9x12 sketch pad, a #2 pencil and an eraser.  Registrations must be received by Monday, March 12, and may be done online using the form on the calendar page at www.artisanbarn.org or by calling 509-229-3414.

Donna has a natural drawing talent and does 30 minute portraits in pastel and graphite with amazing accuracy and beauty. Her paintings and sketches are owned by collectors throughout the U.S. and Canada.  She has enhanced her ability as an artist by taking a variety of classes from world renowned artists. Donna works in oils, acrylics, pastels and graphite to depict portraits, landscapes, domestic animals, wildlife and still life. She has had her work accepted into many juried shows throughout the northwest where she has won many awards.   She has taught children and adults in most media.
