Encaustics workshop scheduled for March 9 at the Dahmen Barn
The formula for encaustic
painting can be summed up in six words: melt wax, add pigment, paint and fuse.
On Saturday, March 9, resident artist Katherine Clancy will lead a workshop on
encaustics painting for ages 16 and above at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown
from 10:30 to 3:30. The cost is $50 which includes all materials.
Students may bring a craft heat gun if they have one plus any small flat items
they might want to collage into the encaustic picture. Maximum class size
is 5 and registrations are required by March 7. Call 509-229-3414 or use
the online process at the top of the calendar page at www.artisanbarn.org.
Katherine Clancy paints primarily in watercolor. She has been painting for 20 years and has expanded into encaustics the past 3 years. She is a member of Idaho Watercolor Society and Palouse Women Artists. Her work is in homes and businesses in the region and across the
