Canyon River Band to Play Outdoor Concert in Uniontown, Wash., July 29, 2012


On Sunday, July 29, 2012, from 2 to 4 pm, the Canyon River Band from Spokane will play an outdoor concert at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown.


The performance will move indoors if the weather dictates.  Admission is $8 at the door.

The Canyon River Band is comprised of area school district superintendents who have also been musicians for many years. The band features outstanding male and female lead vocalists and plays a mix of classic rock, country and ballads.

The band formed in 2004, and has played a number of state and regional education conferences. Canyon River has played several years at Harrison in the Park in Harrison, Idaho, and has played often at Red Horse Mountain Dude Ranch in Harrison.

Lead singer, David James, brings high energy and a great voice to his songs. David sings with passion and he will engage you in the music. David is a retired superintendent from the central Washington area.

Lynette Ferguson brings a great country voice to her music. The band features her in songs by Sugarland, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Kelli Pickler, and the Dixie Chicks, plus some great classic country tunes. Lynette is a school district superintendent in North Idaho.

Les Portner is an experienced drummer and bass player, who brings versatility to the band. He also serves as our stage producer. Les is a retired school superintendent from the Spokane area and has been a musician since his high school days.

Skip Berquam plays lead guitar, does most of the musical arrangements for the band, and contributes vocals and harmonies. Skip formed his first band while he was in high school and is a retired school superintendent from the Spokane area.
