Cowboy poets to bring cowboy
poetry and Western music to the Dahmen Barn on Sunday, February 24
One
of the featured performers will be young fiddle playing phenomenon, Elliott
Marks, from Clarkston , Washington . He started violin lessons at age
5 and now, at age 12, can fiddle with the best of them. Other performers
include poets: J.B. Barber, Darleane Norskog, Marlene Ryan, Dave Wahl and
silver buckle winner Dick Warwick. Musicians, in addition to young Marks,
include “Awesome” Aasen, Lee Hadwiger and Maxine Larson. The Palouse
group was founded in 1995 a few years after acclaimed cowboy poet Baxter Black
visited the area.
Artisans
at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center on highway 195 in
Uniontown in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence. The
fully handicap facility is open Thursday through Sunday 10 am to 4 pm and has
