Uniontown Sausage Feed – since 1954!
This year’s annual Sausage Feed is Sunday, March 3 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Uniontown Community Building, It's an event you won't want to miss. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6 to 12, and $2 for children under 6. The net proceeds go to maintain the Community Building.
The menu is homemade sausage, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, applesauce, roll, pie and beverages, including a beer garden.
The all-you-can-eat meal is first come, first seated and served. The event is so popular, with busloads coming from towns as far away as Spokane, Wash., arrive early and expect to hunt for a parking space. Since Uniontown isn't large so a few blocks is the farthest you'll walk. Disabled access is available from the lower level of the building. Parking is also available behind most buildings, as well as on every street.
While you're there, enjoy the community park and historic buildings.
Once inside the Community Center (gymnasium), follow the line to the right to buy your ticket. (By asking for a “to go” ticket at the window, you can proceed to the dining room to pick it up, so there is no wait.) Those dining in proceed into the gymnasium where the long line circles the floor. Enjoy the many craft and food vendors lining the room.
While in the lineup for meals you'll also be treated with a view of WSU landscape student projects for enhancement of the Dahmen Barn site, including the field between the Barn and the highway. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to comment on each plan.
Making your experience even more memorable, the 4 Names in a Hat barbershop quartet will be wandering minstrels at the Community Building.
As you proceed downstairs to the kitchen and dining room, the line moves slowly, but never fear. Helpers are waiting to serve you and seat you. The food is plentiful, fresh, wholesome, and delicious!
It seems that everybody in Uniontown and the surrounding area is involved to cheerfully serve you, and make your visit memorable. You're guaranteed not to go hungry! Charming youngsters and oldsters circulate constantly, refilling your favorite drink, and favorite dishes.
From 1:00 pm to 3;00 pm, Auf Gehts, a German Oom Pah Band, will play a free concert at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, 419 N. Parkway, a short drive from the Community Center.
Antique shops open during the day, so plan time to look for that special souvenier to treasure.
