Drawing and Painting Landscapes, Registration Due October 28, 2011 for Two-Day Workshop at the Dahmen Barn

On Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6, Spokane artist Wes Hanson will conduct a workshop for adults with beginning or intermediate skill levels from 10 am to 4 pm at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown.

Titled “Drawing and Painting Landscapes in Watercolor”, the cost for the two days is $110.  Students bring their own materials which are listed on the calendar page at http://www.artisanbarn.org/.

Registrations must be received by October 28, and may be made online using the form at the top of the calendar page or by calling 509-229-3414.

Students will learn how to simplify landscape scenes and draw them in unified compositions, apply and manipulate watercolors in various ways, and paint landscapes that have strong designs, values, and vibrant colors.

Draw and paint along with the instructor as you learn how to control watercolor pigments. Be helped by him as you develop your own subjects.

Instructor Wes Hanson has painted watercolors for thirty-five years and teaches drawing and painting to adults for Spokane Art Supply and NorthIdahoCollege. His paintings are displayed at the DeniseOliverGallery in Harrison, Idaho and the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, Washington.

He is an active member in Watercolorists of the Inland Northwest and is a member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society. He demonstrates painting products for Jack Richeson & Co., a major art supply company.
