Hog Heaven Big Band to play at the Dahmen Barn April 27

On Saturday, April 27 from 7:30 to 9:30, the Hog Heaven Big Band will play tunes from The Great American Song Book for listening or dancing at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown.  The cost is $8 for a couple and $5 for a single.  The 16 piece band has been playing on the Palouse for decades, and has been with the Dahmen Barn since it opened in 2006.  They will play again in September and October at the Dahmen Barn.

 
Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center in Uniontown on highway 195 in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence.  The fully handicap accessible facility is open Thursday through Sunday and has no daily admission fee.  Information:  www.artisanbarn.org or 509-229-3414

A wonderful transformation occurred last month at On Sacred Grounds Coffee, 12212 E Palouse Hwy, in Valleyford, Washington. The coffee shop became a Ladies Spa Day Get-A-Way. It was so wonderfully popular; we are doing it again on April 28, 2013.

Registration Due April 4, 2013 for Carole Galloway Children's Workshop

 

Dahmen Barn resident artist Carole Galloway will work with children aged 6 to 12 to make a useful item beautiful on Saturday, April 6 from 1 to 3 pm. They will paint a wooden handle for a short broom in their choice of color and patter then embellish the hanger with beads. These 20" tall brooms are very handy in small spaces and with a dust pan just might be used in the child's room! Carole sells many of these small, pretty brooms to folks with RVs and travel trailers.  The cost is $15 and includes all materials.  Please register by April 4.  Registrations may be made by calling 509-229-3414 or use the online process at the top of the calendar page at www.artisanbarn.org.
