Deadline December 30, 2012 to Register For Glass Blowing Workshop


Back by popular demand:  Glass blowing workshop offered by the Dahmen Barn

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is pleased to announce another glass blowing workshop to be held at Bob and Kathy Kernan’s Sky River Glass studio in Clarkston.  The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, January 5 from 10 am to 4 pm.  It is for beginners aged 16 and older and is limited to 6 students to assure individual attention.  Here’s your opportunity to spend a day in a working glass blowing studio creating glass floats, ornaments or paperweights. Learn how to draw molten glass from the furnace, apply color and decoration, and blow and shape your own unique glass objects. All materials are provided in the $110 class fee; but students should bring sun or safety glasses and a sack lunch.  Registrations may be made online by using the form at the top of the calendar page at www.artisanbarn.org or calling 509-229-3414.  The deadline to register for the workshop is December 30.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a non-profit creativity center in Uniontown in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence.  The three storey facility is fully handicap accessible and has no daily admission fee.  It is open every day of the week through December 23rd from 10 am to 6 pm; winter hours Thursday through Sunday 10 am to 4 pm in January and February.

Registrations Due December 6, 2012 for Saturday Christmas Decoration Holiday-Themed Workshops



Workshops:  Christmas decorations from FIMO clay or corn husks

On Saturday, December 8 at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, resident artist Carole Galloway is offering two holiday themed workshops.  From 10 am to noon participants will make small flat items from FIMO clay that can be used to decorate gift boxes, can become a tree ornament or be transformed into a necklace.  Then from 3:00 to 5:00 she will lead participants in making dolls from corn husks.  The cost of each workshop is $15, and registrations are required no later than December 6.  Registrations may be made online using the form at the top of the calendar page at www.artisanbarn.org or by calling 509-229-3414.

Twenty-three Artists Exhibit During December at Uniontown, Wash.


New work by 23 resident artists at the Dahmen Barn is being exhibited the month of December 

The “Christmas at the Barn” exhibit opens December 1st at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn and continues the month of December. “Christmas at the Barn” is the annual resident artist exhibit showcasing our 23 resident artists. The exhibit will feature a Christmas tree with handcrafted ornaments and small miniature paintings by our artists.

The opening reception will be December 8th and 9th from 10am to 6pm.  The weekend will be bursting with festive loveliness, seasonal ornament demonstrations to keep children and adults entertained & lots of festive refreshments and music. It is an event not to be missed.

Regular hours are Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.  Holiday hours:  OPEN 10 am to 6 pm every day December 1 through 23; closing at 4 pm on Christmas eve.
